Link To The Past – Part 3

Two days after the massacre of the High Council families, a couple of copycats came out of the woodwork in attempts to continue stirring up problems for the High Council. The first one was known by the name Abraham Lincoln, who has since been discovered to be the next of kin of the disgraced mobster Link. Apparently, Link had disrespected his entire former empire publicly and then got upset when he those that used to be in that empire with him refused to talk to him. Link was eventually killed for his disrespect and it appeared Abraham had come back to avenge Link.

It originally began when Abraham latched on as an associate of the Barzini Syndicate, which is lead by Gunnz a former family member of Link’s. It appears the plan from the start was to cause problems for Gunnz and his entire empire as a whole. Abraham would eventually sever ties with his Barzini contacts, unbeknownst to them, and would then try to set himself up with the Camonte organization through Camonte Empire Boss Scarface. Gunnz placed a hit on Abraham the moment it was reported he was missing. The first thought that usually goes through a mobster’s head when a fellow wiseguy stops showing up is that they likely turned informer or have done something they don’t want their superiors to find out about. A week had gone by since the hit was placed on Abraham and several attempts were made to contact him but none were successful. Then suddenly a rumor began circulating in the underworld that Abraham had been dropped from his family and was now being targeted for it. Since the man in question was an associate and had officially been linked to a family normal protocol is that no other family can nor should intervene. Abraham tested the boundaries of this rule by running to Camonte Empire Boss Scarface to try to get his help to keep him alive. Scarface, a respected member of the High Council, said he would find out what was going on but made no guarantees. He then contacted Gunnz, who unnecessarily explained the situation to Scarface who then claimed that Gunnz had no right to kill Abraham. At this point it was unknown that Abraham was a relative of Link’s. A major sit-down was held between the Bosses of the High Council Empires in which LeftyTwoGunz and Scarface seemingly were down each other’s throats. It appears Lefty’s argument was that Abraham knowingly broke a rule, was an associate in the Barzini Empire and therefore could be killed for his infraction by the Barzini Empire without any outside interference. The rest of the Council agreed, but Scarface seemed intent on making this situation into a bigger issue. Before long most of the Council Bosses were pushing for a quick resolution to the issue. Suddenly Angel spoke up, “LMAO You know Abraham is part of the Link family right guys?” To which Gunnz exploded. Gunnz and Link were supposed to have recently buried the hatchet however it seems Link had other plans in mind and was still looking to screw over his old ally. Scarface immediately apologized to the Barzini Empire and explained he was only looking to protect the values of the High Council. Soon enough there was a hit team dispatched to California to find Abraham.

News began to spread about the Abraham situation, and Abraham was trying to hide out in California hoping no one would find him. From his hideout he would spend the whole day peering out his second story window to the street waiting for the car containing his killers to pull up. When he woke up one morning he looked out his window and recognized a Barzini associate by the name of Big-T, who was in the area doing his collections. Abraham believing that Big T was a member of Gunnz’s syndicate as well as possibly there to kill him immediately ran downstairs, snuck up behind Big-T and shot him in the back of the head. Big-T was killed instantly and Abraham turned around and tried to quickly make it back to his hideout. He had not expected that Gunnz had accompanied Big-T on his rounds and was waiting for him with, gun in hand, at the entrance to his hideout. Before Abraham could say anything, Gunnz shot him in the face, spit on his lifeless body and then walked away. It seemed the Abraham Problem had been solved.

Passing The Torch
With the New Year having come, The Child being taken care of and a general lasting prosperity in the American Mafia, Ricardo Barzini decided it was his time to step down and pass on the responsibilities of Kingpin. There was a smooth transition of power, and Angel Corleone quickly became comfortable in the big chair as the American Mafia’s new Kingpin. Surprisingly this is the first time Angel has been Kingpin, but it appears those on the High Council think highly enough of him to afford him the title. Hopefully Angel’s term as Kingpin can be just as peaceful and prosperous as Ric’s and the American Mafia can continue its upward trend.
