Genovese crime family – First crime family of New York

Genovese crime family had been nicknamed ‘Rolls Royce’ and Ivy League’ and is among the powerful ‘Five Families’ of New York’s organized crime. It is Gambinoi crime family that had rivaled this family in size. The Genovese were said to be unmatched with regards to power and maintained generally different degrees of influence over the other smaller mafia members based outside New York and had ties with crime families of Philadelphia, Buffalo and Patriarca.

Rise to power

This mafia family according to the experts is considered to be the most sophisticated, logical, crafty, largest and intelligent among the five families of the region. During the 21st century, this family tried to find out new ways for taking benefits of bank caused lax ‘due diligence’ at the time of housing spike by getting involved in mortgage frauds in waves. Home equity loans were obtained by the victims of loan sharks for paying off their mob bankers of their debts. New technologies were used by the family for enhancing illegal gambling, with bets being placed by customers through the web using offshore sites.

Its history

It was Lucky Luciano who had founded the current ‘family’. It got renamed after Vito Genovese in 1957. Vincent Gigante ‘the Chin’ was in control originally on Manhattan’s West Side waterfront including Fulton Fish Market. He was also known as ‘the Oddfather’. After Gigante’s death in 2005, the Genovese family leadership looked like it was in limbo, however, they were actually the most powerful and organized crime family in the region. This family is said to have benefited immensely following the Omerta Code from the members. Although, mobsters from other crime families have testified against them, since the 1980’s, only 6 members of the Genovese family had turned witness in its entire history.

Facts about Genovese crime family

Originating from East Harlem’s Morello gang, this crime family is New York City’s first mafia family. Giuseppe Morello is the founder of this family and it has been active until now, right from its emergence in 1980’s. It operated the territories of The Bronx, Manhattan, New York, Brooklyn, Connecticut, New Jersey, Las Vegas, South Florida, and Massachusetts. They presently have about 250 to 300 made-members and criminal associates of more than 3,000. They are involved in criminal activities like conspiracy, racketeering, money laundering, loansharking, drug trafficking,  murder, extortion, pornography, labor racketeering, waste management, weapons trafficking, fraud, prostitution, counterfeiting, bribery, bookmarking, illegal gambling,  contract killing and robbery.

Bodies hit the floor

Breaking news from AM times.

 

It seems an all out war has hit the streets of America. Genovese’s are shooting Zapponi’s, Zapponi’s are shooting Genovese’s. This war has already claimed a dozen lives between the 2 families. Biggest looses for the sides were G-T-R who was a part of the Zapponi Crime Family, and Albert–Anastesia from The Genovese Crime Family. This war shows no sign of ending until Al or Saint’s body is found riddled with bullets. The war is believed to have start when Saint tried shaking down Al, demanding Al pay him money or points for Saint to not shoot his members. Moments later shoots were reported at a brothel in Wyoming. Cops arrived to find Albert with 7 shots from 2 different weapons.

 

No evidence was found and no witnesses have turned up. Within an hour 9 more Genovese’s were found dead all across America. In Chicago’s South Side two Genovese’s were found in the back of a trunk under a bridge. The bodies appeared beaten and bruised, the corner believes these men had been beaten and stabbed to death. Houses and businesses owned by Genovese members have been burned down and shot up. The violence is getting out of hand. From American Mafia Times HQ, stay safe and have fun.

 

Mob Wars: Zapponi vs Genovese

It was a warm and beautiful day in the American Samoas, the sun was shining, the birds were chirping and everything was going as usual for Genovese Boss, Saint Genovese. As he is standing on the white sands staring into the ocean he is waiting for his courier to get there with his usual report of what is happening in the mob scene. As his courier arrives as usual and hands him his report in silence, Saint notices instead of leaving like normal he is just standing there. “ Is there something you need?” Saint asks


“ Well there is one more thing… Saint you see uhh there is no easy way to tell you but Al Zapponi is back” the courier replies, shaking. Saint nods and when the courier turns around Saint pulls out his 1911 and blows the couriers brains out. Saint rushes in to his house and goes to the phone in his office, untapped and calls Al Zapponi, no response. Furious he now calls GoodFellas which he saw is back in the business. “ Hello this is GoodFellas” he answers, “ Look I don’t care who you used to be but right now you’re dead so is your buddy Al you got that?” Saint snarls. The line is silent is silent and then Al picks up the phone, “ You want war junior well you got it don’t be mad when you’re alone because you just signed your members death certificates” Al tells Saint before hanging up.


As Giovanni Falcone is sitting in the living room of his mansion just outside the city limits of New York City one of his bodyguards walks up to him letting him know he has a visitor. As Grim tells his bodyguard to send him in Pazzo Sangue walks into the room and tells Grim “ Well with the Zapponi Genovese war going on right now Genovese soldiers are being killed but we need a couple high profile assassinations and who better to get than the Grim Reaper, anyways I’m going with you on these ones get a suit and lets go Albert Anastasia was last seen in Wyoming”. As Pazzo and Grim are driving around in the part Cheyenne that Albert is known to be seen, they spot his car. So they decide to tail him for a little bit until Pazzo gets a call and almost slams on the brakes. “ Biggles killed GTR we need to get to Michigan he is the other target” Pazzo tells Grim so at a intersection they pull up beside Albert and as he looks over to the left he sees Grim with a suppressed pistol aiming at him then it all goes black for Albert as the two speed away.


When Grim and Pazzo are in Detroit they are directed to a Genovese owned warehouse and were told Di Maso was about ten minutes ahead of them they see Di Maso outside the warehouse sitting on the ground with his Tommy Gun in hand he has been shot in the stomach. As Grim and Pazzo rush over to him he tells them “ Don’t worry about me I got a couple men and Biggles in the leg when he was switching cover hehe”, “ Pazzo get Di Maso to Rosatos so he can have that bullet taken out and be patched up I got Biggles” Grim says to Pazzo. Before they leave Di Maso hands Grim his Tommy Gun, “ Still has a full cartridge in it I reloaded before you guys got here now go put a bullet in that SOB”.


As Grim kicks open the warehouse door Tommy Gun in hand there is about four guys on the main level left and he unloads the cartridge in them, bullets tearing into mortal flesh. He sets the Tommy Gun down and takes out his suppressed 1911 and runs up the stairs and is waiting outside the office, following the blood trail as he opens the door he sees Biggles on the floor trying to wrap his shirt around his leg to try to stop the bleeding. As Grim walks over to him and aims the gun at his head Biggles looks into Grims eyes and says “ Genovese for life” all tensed up. Grim pulls the trigger and watches the body of Biggles go limp. “ Nobody escapes the reaper” Grim says and walks off…

The Genovese Functions

Months ago, their was an article based on the Genovese Crime Family. Because of what people thought of the Genovese, it caused a lot of deaths.
Two men who cannot be identified were paid by an unknown mafia related resident to kidnap mob boss “_SaintGenovese_.  Their job was to kidnap, torture, find out information and then kill Saint himself in a slow, brutal suffering death.

 

Six days earlier, Saint was in Las Vages to meet with ” Mr_Donnie_Vegas” and discuss income on their shared Casino rackets. Late in the night, Saint parks his car in the parking lot of a casino racket. He gets out of his car and walks twords the casino. Then a mysterious van pulls up with his high beems on distracting Saint thinking it was Donnie men. He sees the doors of the vans open and the two men from the front run twords Saint. Saint then quickly puts his hand in his jacket of his coat to grab his revolver and looks up. A wrench is swong and hits his face. He blacks out…

 

Saint wakes up in a dark room. The first thing he sees is his bloody tank top on his chest. In panic he looks around the room. He sees nothing within three feet in front of him and a light above his head. Realizing his hands are tied and he’s stuck to an old wooden chair. He hears a door open, and quickly looks to the light coming through an old squeaky metal door. Two dark figures of men walk through it and it slams shut. The lights turn on and the two of them are wearing ski masks with a black sweat shirt and black sweat pants. Can’t even see the color of their skin.
Saint looks right and sees a gun wall and a table below it with all sorts of weapons. Fire hatches, butterfly knifes and many other torturous weapons. He hears a deep voice say

 

” I’ve heard that you have been causing a lot of trouble in the American Mafia. All we want is to find out information and we will set you free, Capisce?

 

” fine, can we make this quick! ” 

 

The other man from the corner of the room playing bad cop strikes him in his face. He reaches for the butterfly knife and cuts his cheek. Saint screaming in pain while the other man is pulling him back. He then says 

 

” Don’t yell at me or my buddy over here! “

 

Saint did not like that very much. Realizing he bit his tongue when he pouched himself he spits blood at him. He then strikes him again and says 
” this is hurting you more then me, friend! So lets start shall we? Why did you enter this thing of ours? 

 

” I have brought many Genovese’s into this business, even Royce__Gambino was once a Genovese. A lot of my men were killed while they were trying to learn more about this business and gain experiance with a gun. But everybody except for me were killed as my compound was raided. The defenses weren’t the best. They all died saving my life but its too bad they couldn’t save their own.

 

The man puts brass knuckles on and punches Saint in his ribs, breaking them. He then asks:

 

” Why are people out to kill you? I mean we are doing it to get paid but this one is more for us. “

 

” I came into this business already a hated person. People got the wrong impression of me. My men and others were killed because of rumors. Franky and Zodiac Genovese (ex Genovese members) started a lot of problems to make matters worse.” Saint breathing heavy and spitting blood out of his mouth and continues on ” they were never originally on my side but because of their actions got a lot of people killed on my side and theirs. Royce ashore me that things were going to be better. As long as he’s Kingpin”. 

 

The man then grabs spark plugs and then zaps Saint with them. For more then five seconds, you gear horrific screams form Saint.

 

” Why are you trying to take over the American Mafia!? “

 

Saint catching his breath and then he is hit by the man until he answers. Saint coughing up more blood and says

 

” taking over!? I can assure you that this is not the Genovese intensions. We would like to give Ideas to other stat are willing to hear my ideas.
You know, to make the American Mafia better without violence.”

 

” Who do you think would be a big help to get your point across? ” 

 

“I think Royce would do well for the American Mafia. As far as changes go, having automatic rank up when inactive after a month is fine but just letting people be aware their going to be ranked up. Especially the ones who spent money on items to help themselves would be nice.” 

 

The man reaches for his gun, and then shoots Saint in his foot without hesitation. 

 

” Mobsters do say that u have killed first. Why is that? “

 

” How can u expect me to answer your questions if I’m dead! I can’t say my men aren’t killers but if your attacked, wouldn’t you fight back. I mean if your hands weren’t tied right? So rumors got people thinking so when they attack us, we fight back. Simply payback or revenge. Whatever you want to call it.

 

The man starts poring gasoline on Saint and says, 

 

” You have been a big help to us Mr. Genovese but that’s all we need. See you in hell my friend. “He then lights a match and then holds it in the air about to throw it, then he hears gun shots out the door, they ur. For their guns but the door is blown open. Royce and James-Gambino then shoot their tommy guns into the two men, pick up saint and run for their car. They burn rubber and they are not seen for the next week or so. 

 

Thanks to Saint for allowing me to interview him, it seems that the Genovese just want to help rather then hurt. I hope you liked the story and stay safe American Mafia!
